Last Day in California

On our last day in San Diego, Kelsey and I slept in and lounged around the room until we had to check out. After checking out of the hotel, we drove to Coronado, California which wasn't far away at all and has one of the top-rated beaches in the United States. It was overcast, so the beach didn't look bright and beautiful, but the beach stretched on for miles!
There is a Navy base close by so a lot of this was going on...
There were hundreds of seashells on this beach and tons of sand dollars. It was nice to hang out on the beach and read and relax before taking our flight back home. After hanging out on the beach, we drove back into town and go lunch at this cute little old-fashion diner. I wish I would have taken more pictures of the diner but what I did take a picture of was this
They had a big jute box and then smaller individual jute boxes on each table. The town of Coronado was so cute - I'd definitely go back and vacation in this town. It was clean. There were tons of really cute beach houses. And not to mention, to park our car on the street, the parking meter only cost 25 cents for an entire hour {unlike in Minneapolis where a quarter buys your about 8 minutes...}.

The flight home seemed to take forever. We were only supposed to have a layover in Arizona for an hour but that hour turned out to be three hours {or maybe even more} so we didn't get home until well after midnight. On a side note, the airport in Phoenix is by far the worst airport I have ever traveled through. The terminals were small and their food selection wasn't great either. Kelsey and I ate in the Phoenix airport both on the way out to San Diego and also on the way back and both places we ate at had awful, awful service with highly over priced food that left you never wanting to return. Oh well, mental note taken.
